These days we have been working on different types of traditional games around the world because of the Children’s Day. The game which have caught our attention has been Los Yaquis, a typical game in Cuba. You need a little ball and some plastic toys called yaquis. We have found information about how it is played, what are the rules, how many people can play it and the material that you need to play the game. Later, we have explained the game in a big cardboard and finally we have decorated it.

MY HOUSE’S PLANE

Within the project «Buztintxuri, making neighborhood», 3ºD students are making their house’s plan. With this proposal it is intended that students become aware of the space and be able to represent it graphically. In addition, they can see and experience the environment in which they live (their house is in a building which is located in the neighborhood where they live). Very soon we are going out, through the neighborhood, to find their houses on Buztintxuri’s streets.

SALIDA A LA BIBLIOTECA DE NAVARRA

¡Hola!

Hello!

We are the students of 4.A class. 22nd October we went to Navarre’s Library. For this, we searched for information to know what line of public transport we need to take.

First of all, we take the public transport in Refena, line 16. We stopped in Cuatro Vientos and we went walking to Renfe. Here, we took line 7 and we went to the health center. From here, we went walking to the library.

In the library, Aitziber the responsible, said hello and she told that a pirate was sleeping there. In the floor, there were pirate’s clothes, coins and a paper in a bottle. Aitziber had 5 suspicious pirates and we had to guess what pirate she was talking about.

With this game we learned to order and search the books. We enjoyed ourselves a lot!

During this week, taking into account what we have already learned the previous week, the students of 2nd level of Primary, we are preparing the necessary materials to inform the rest of the students of the school, the correct way to work with the compost and composter. For this, we are preparing posters with basic rules such as:

  • Citrus and banana peels, should be threw to the garbage, not to compost.
  • The lid of the composter must be tightly closed once the fruit remains are thrown. (It is very important that the waste falls INSIDE the composter and not outside).
  • The remains of fruit that go to the composter must be cut into pieces; we should not throw whole pieces of fruit.
  • You can´t pour water into the composter.
  • The water used to clean the compost bucket is used to water the garden.

With these recommendations, we hope to get a good fertilizer for our garden!

YEAR SIX STUDENTS DID A PARLIAMENT

Year six students did a Parliament the 10th of October of this year, in their classes.

Parliament session began at three o´clock and finished at half past four.

The Parliament session began at three o´clock and finished at half past four. We did it because we wanted to choose the topic for the musical.

Before that, we started doing a brain-storming, putting in a post-it what we would like to be the topic for the musical. Then, we decided the three topics that we liked the most, taking into account arguments for and against. Later, we decided the topic that we wanted more and then in the Parliament, we chose the two topics that we liked the most.

We and the teachers all wore smart clothes. We put the tables in U shape and in the background we put curtains and we stuck the shield of Nafarroa.

Hello.

We are the 4-year-old C class.

During the first term we are learning interesting things about volcanoes. Unintentionally, we have become experts in volcanoes, we are vulcanologists!

COMPOST

Last Wednesday, pupils from second level (2ºD, E and F) received an informative talk from a Mancomunidad de Pamplona worker.

During the explanation we learned what compost is, what its main uses are and how it is obtained. In addition, he gave us useful tips to keep the school’s composters at the highest possible performance; taking into account the dumping waste, the temperature, oxygen or water they receive.

Finally, we put into practice what we learned.

CAMPAMENTO OLLO

Last week, the pupils from second level (2o D, 2o E, 2o F) went to Ollo camp. We spent two fantastic days in the farm where we learnt a lot of things about different animals: pigs, rabbits, goats, horses…etc. We even had the opportunity to feed and touch them…

We went hiking into the forest and we played many games in order to learn how to take care of the nature. We also collected several plants and, after learning about their properties, we made a medical cream. We had time to play, dance…and, in general, to have fun and spent time with our classmates. It was a great experience and we really recommend it!

NUESTRO CUERPO

In the «5-year-old E» class we have been working on our body image. Boys and girls have been discovering their bodies by playing in front of the mirror and they finally showed their learnings by drawing a human figure.
