¿Qué libros nos gustan más?, ¿Cuáles tienen menos aceptación?, ¿Qué libros pasan sin pena ni gloria?… Eso era lo que nos preguntábamos en 4º. Pero a partir de este trimestre esas incógnitas ya no quedan sin respuesta, porque hemos ideado una sección en el aula que se llama “Leo y opino”.

Se trata de fomentar el hábito lector, que desde edades tempranas es un excelente método de desarrollo y aprendizaje. Como ya es sabido, si somos capaces de leer unas páginas de un libro al día tendremos un vocabulario más amplio y una mayor agilidad mental.

Pero no es solo eso, también de esta forma desarrollamos nuestra capacidad de interpretación, razonamiento y pensamiento crítico.

Para ello utilizamos unas cintas con los colores del semáforo y escribimos nuestra opinión en ellas. El rojo indica que no nos ha gustado el libro, el verde que nos ha encantado, y el amarillo que….más o menos.

Además respetamos la diversidad de opiniones y puntos de vista de todos los compañeros y compañeras.

¡ Nos encanta este rincón y además queda muy chulo en el aula!

Ranking of books in 4th grade!!!!

What kind of books do we like the most? Which do we not like? Which ones pass unnoticed? That’s what we were wondering in 4th grade. But from now on, those unknowns will have an answer! We have created a place in our classroom called: “ I read and I think”.

It is about promoting reading habits, that it’s an excellent method of development and learning. As is known, if we are able to read a few pages of a book every day, we will increase our vocabulary and our mental agility.

In addition, it is a great way to improve our interpretation, our thinking and our critical thinking.

For this we use some ribbons with traffic light colours and then we write our opinion in them. The red ribbon means that we didn’t like the book, the green one means that we’ve loved it, and the yellow ribbon means that we’ve liked it but not too much.

We also respect the points of view of all our classmates.

We love this corner and it looks really good!

A lo largo de éste curso, el alumnado de 1º de Educación Primaria al completo vamos a ser los responsables de cosechar, cultivar y regar la huerta, para que cuando llegue la época estival podamos recoger los frutos de dicho trabajo.

Por eso, en éstas últimas semanas nos hemos puesto manos a la obra y llenos de ilusión, con muchísimas ganas y buena actitud, hemos bajado a la huerta para plantar cebollas y sembrar ajos.

Ha sido muy emocionante descubrir que cada semilla es diferente, y que cada fruto necesita ser sembrado en una época del año distinta, y que además de necesitar tierra, agua, sol y nuestro bien elaborado compost, necesitan que factores como el ciclo lunar, nos acompañen en un momento adecuado.

Nos estamos implicando activamente en la siembra, y vivimos cada momento y cada experiencia con intensidad, por el hecho de ser los protagonistas del proceso y los encargados de que en los meses de verano podamos gozar de unas estupendas verduras en el patio de nuestro colegio.

Alumnas y alumnos de 1º D.

This course the pupils of 1st Primary Education will be responsible for planting and watering the garden, so that when the summer season arrives we will reap the fruits of such a hard work.

That is why, in these last weeks we we went to the garden full enthusiasm to plant onions and garlics.

It was very exciting to discover that each seed is different, and that each fruit needs to be sown at a different time of the year. In addition, we learnt that apart from needing soil, water, sun and our well-prepared compost, other factors such as the lunar cycle are important too.

We are actively engaging in planting, and we live every moment and every experience with eagerness because we are the protagonists of the process,and in charge of the fact that in the summer months, we will enjoy some wonderful vegetables in the courtyard of our school.

We will keep you informed of the evolution of our vegetables.

1st D pupils

Desde el inicio de curso hemos estado muy interesados por los dinosaurios, por lo que decidimos investigar sobre ellos. Para ello hemos creado el rincón de los dinosaurios, que gracias a las aportaciones de las familias está siendo un éxito.

Since the school year started, we have been very interested in dinosaurs. So, we decided to investigate about them. Thanks to the material that our families have provided, we have done a dinosaurs corner. It´s being a success!

Estos días hemos estado trabajando sobre los juegos tradicionales de diferentes países con motivo del Día del Niño. Hemos averiguado que en Cuba juegan a los Yaquis. Para jugar necesitas una pelota y los llamados yaquis. Los yaquis son juguetes pequeñitos hechos de plástico de cuatro puntas. Hemos estado trabajando en grupos de cuatro y cinco. Después de conseguir información, hemos escrito lo más importante en una cartulina grande. Explicamos como se juega, que se necesita para jugar y cuantas personas juegan. Para acabar, hemos decorado nuestro trabajo.

These days we have been working on different types of traditional games around the world because of the Children’s Day. The game which have caught our attention has been Los Yaquis, a typical game in Cuba. You need a little ball and some plastic toys called yaquis. We have found information about how it is played, what are the rules, how many people can play it and the material that you need to play the game. Later, we have explained the game in a big cardboard and finally we have decorated it.
